As Founder & Principle of Triple Ethos, LLC, Richard helps purpose-driven leaders and their organizations cultivate sustainable success using a triple-bottom line framework (social, environmental, economic). Triple Ethos gained certification as a B Corporation in 2014, joining the ranks of over 1,400 companies who are redefining success in business while meeting rigorous social and environmental standards.
An experienced and successful change leader, Richard was recognized by Folio magazine as “being one of the magazine industry’s top 40 influencers and innovators” after leading initiatives that resulted in the retail supply chain becoming more efficient and profitable while also lessening its environmental impact. He has served in executive-level positions with Time Inc., Barnes & Noble, and Comag Marketing Group (a joint venture between Hearst Magazines and Conde Nast) where his management responsibilities included sales, marketing, marketing analysis, information systems, supply chain management, human resources, and corporate communications. He has published articles on improving supply chain efficiency, and served on the Magazine Publishers Association’s Environmental Task Force and Walmart’s magazine sustainability committee.
Richard has been a Governance Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors, and has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations with earned revenue streams. He holds an M.B.A. in Sustainability from Antioch University New England, a B.S. in Management from Clemson University, and is a certified Cultural Transformation Tools consultant.
